20090708-7:30am - Took a train to Zürich for the Matlab seminar at Novotel. I am impressed with Novotel. I will make sure to bring my parents there when they visit me.
20090708- 9:00am -MatLab seminar starts. I am again totally in love with Matlab. Again the power of Matlab was clearly demonstrated! The (very young)speaker was especially witty and made the whole seminar very lively and interesting. It was a very fruitful seminar. I personally understood a lot more and cleared up a few issues which has been bugging me for quite some time now. All this while, I am a fan of Matlab, and thought that Matlab is very powerful and user friendly, in comparison to Diadem. But after today' talk, my admiration of Matlab has gone up to a totally different dimension!! More reason to dislike Diadem, although I am working a lot with it now. Diadem is good/powerful ???!! Think again and evaluate again after you have known the full potential of Matlab! =)
Somehow that speaker reminds me of Christoph, my ex-boss at Siemens. Maybe the way they talk?
20090708- 10:30 am : Break. This is probably the most impressive break, I had ever had. Most seminar breaks only provides coffee, tea and some biscuits/cakes. Here in Zürich, it was more like a buffett breakfast., What we had was coffee, tea, joghurt drink!!!, varieties of fruits as well as chocolate bars!!! It had to be because of Matlab of just because of the location Zürich. Well, so far, I attended all my seminars in Germany. Looks like i have to start attending seminars in Switzerland instead. Welll, I shall choose my next NI training in Ennetbaden.
20090708- 12:30pm : End of seminar. Took a name card and a Matlab Rubik's cube as souvenir. Cool. I shall keep myself occupied with the 'IN' toy at the moment. Do you know that Rubik' cube originated from Budapest? Somehow, I have a tiny sense of belonging regarding Budapest. Well, maybe due to my trips and constant contact with your colleagues there. =)
20090708 - 13:30pm : Lunch.... This is the most exciting yet most ridiculous meal here in Europe. I had Kang Kung goreng Belacan at a Chinese-Malaysian Restaurant. And guess how much it costs?? A whopping 20 CHF! My lunch consists of Lengkong drink and Kang Kung Belacan. So the bill came up to 25 CHF!! Haha.. I can't believe I just spent close to RM 80 on such a meal. An identical meal in Malaysia probably costs RM5?
The Kang Kung was seriously cooked with ONLY belacan and oil. Not a single piece of chilli or udang kering was in sight!! It was totally vegetarian. But well, if I were to die at that moment, I would had been a happy spirit. =) I was totally touched by those kang kung. It definitely eased my home sickness.
20090708- 14.30pm : Enjoyed the spectacular view at the river/Zürich Lake. At that moment, I recalled why I like Zürich so much. The view was simply fantastic and charming.
20090708- 15:00pm : Shopping: Loccitane, Mango, Zara, Esprit, Coop, Body Shop. Picked up a pair of slack and a long cardigan. Then picked up a Charlie Blue and body lotion, shower gel and lip moisture stick from Body Shop.
20090708-17:00pm : Take a long ride home. =) Passed by Wädenswill, I shall make it a point to go there on one of those weekends to sun bath. Spectacular view again. Reading/ sleeping by the Valensee will be very nice.
20090708- 00:15am : Good nite!!
